Council Meeting Summary

Call to order, welcome. Correspondence: enforcement notice. Minutes of January meeting approved.
Committee reports:
STREMAC (SEMAC and State Council did not meet). STREMAC met February 10. The Regional ALS Adult and Pediatric Protocols and the Scope of Practice and the Formulary for Medications was approved at that STREMAC meeting, and will get approved at the March meeting of this body.
     Revisions to the AED policy and procedures: a few minor changes, probably the most significant change in that was the change from quarterly in-servicing mandated to twice a year. That will come to this body next month.
     Dr. Wayne Shariff from Schuyler Hospital was elected to the STREMAC.
     Nomination of Dr. Gary Enders from Corning Hospital to the STREMAC: approved.
Regional Quality Improvement met Tuesday the 10th. Pediatric Assessment training program is now available on the website.
Public Relations committee met February 10th. Annual conference this year will be October 16, at Corning Community College. Keynote speaker will be Dr. Christopher Lentz from Strong Memorial Hospital burn unit. EMS Awards: focus on presenting the very distinguished Walt Ersly award, deadline for nominations is April 15.
Systems committee met this evening prior to regular Council meeting. MCI trailers have been redistributed Steuben, Chemung and Schuyler County each now have MCI trailers available. One new PAD application was accepted from the YWCA in Elmira.
Other business:
     There are currently three vacancies on Council, one from Schuyler County and two from Steuben. Application packets are available.
      Brief report on "EMS Town Meetings."
     STREMS phone system has not been working well since it was struck by lightning. System will be replaced as soon aspossible.
Review of STAR (Southern Tier Assissted Response) program.
